As we at Faras Elementary School prepare to wrap up our school year, we have many fun and exciting things going on! Our students have been competing in the annual mile run, which has been organized by Mr. Oscar Romero. On Thursday, May 17, 2012, the Kindergarten, first and second grade students ran, and on Friday the Third, fourth and fifth grade students ran. Our fastest boy and girl runners will be honored during the awards assembly and receive medals.
In addition, On May 17, 2012 the PTSO hosted a Family Fun Fiesta for the families and students at Faras. Each classroom set up an activity booth, PTSO provided four jumping castles, hot dogs, drinks, and cotton candy. This event was fun for the whole family! Our PTSO did an amazing job organizing this event! We would like to extend a special “thank you” to Raul and Marina Montano and to Ricardo and Iris De la Vega who went above and beyond in the planning and preparation for this event. It would not have been such a tremendous success with out them!
The last week of school, Faras will be saying goodbye to our fifth grade students as we send them off to Middle school. The ceremony will be taking place at 1:30 on Monday, May 21st. In addition, we will also be holding our honors assembly the morning of the 21st for our kindergarten through fourth grade students.
